Welcome!

Welcome to The Corner Report, an independent Internet website providing news, editorials, essays, features, photos and more from the Northwest Corner of Connecticut -- and beyond.

The Northwest Corner Report was created to provide professional in depth news reports focusing on Connecticut’s  Northwest Corner communities of  Canaan, Cornwall, Falls Village, Kent, Salisbury, Sharon, and other nearby towns. We’ll cover general news, politics, arts and entertainment, health issues, environmental news, and stories about education in the Region 1 School District.  We’ll also include a section for public service announcements.

That’s the Northwest Corner aspect of the website. The ``beyond” part will provide state, national, and world reports from various sources and across the political spectrum on issues which may impact the lives of people everywhere. There will be a special emphasis on stories about the Middle East -– that vortex of energy and ambitions so crucial to peace and stability in our only world. In general, the stories will be ones you won't find in the mainstream media.

But, wait, there’s more! The Corner Report also will devote a lot of cyberspace to you, the reader. A place for reader comments is provided at the end of every story. We also welcome editorials, op-ed pieces, essays and stories that exercise our mental muscles, reflect on our way of life, and enhance our spiritual well being.  You can find submission guideless at ``Submit a Story or Story Idea.”
